Affirmations |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Affirmations are positive statements that consciously reprogram your mind to accept new ways of living. To start making your own affirmations you need to think about what your goals are. What specifically do you want the affirmation to help you make happen? Affirmations must be positive and brief and in the present tense i.e. say 'I have' or 'I am' instead of 'I will have' or 'I want to be'. These will empower you to deal with any situation that occurs in the future. They will help you handle difficult and stressful situations and give you tremendous confidence. Affirmations are a brilliant way of feeling good about your self immediately, with long term benefits as well. If someone tells you something often enough, you start to believe it. That's how affirmations work. If you tell your self something, anything often enough, it will become true. Decide on your chosen affirmations then all you have to do is repeat them, to yourself or out loud. You should say them whenever they come into your mind; you should say them whenever you are beset by doubts or anxieties. As you are saying your affirmations feel good about what you are saying, smile as you are saying them. If you prefer write them down say 10 times regularly throughout the day. Believe that they can become true or are coming true for you. If you don't believe.trust me on this one. suspend your disbelief.just keep doing your affirmations! When you have been doing your affirmations for a while you will notice subtle changes in your attitude, as you begin to believe anything is possible if you want it enough. It is very simply a way of turning your dreams into reality and giving substance to your innermost wishes. They enable you to confront dilemmas and fears; they reinforce the fact that you have been in a certain situation before and survived. Choose positive thoughts. It doesn't take any longer to think positive thoughts than it does to think negative ones. So go on choose wisely choose positive thoughts. Use these affirmations and say them to yourself regularly, like your own personal mantras. If you prefer write them down and keep them in your wallet or purse then you can look at them when you need a boost. Why not stick them where you can see them regularly i.e. on the mirror or fridge? Ignore cynical comments from others. Think, speak and act them with confidence and commitment. It will be well worth the effort!
